A Unique Weightlifting Experience at Synergy Strength
The Friendship Cup is back this December with a brand-new spin on the sport we love.
This year, we’re blending elements of Olympic weightlifting with a “flight”-style flow, creating a one-of-a-kind competition format designed for fun, inclusivity, and community.
Here’s what makes this year’s Friendship Cup special:
Modified Flow: We’ll keep the rising bar concept, but athletes will lift in flights. That means everyone in a given session will take their first attempt together (lightest to heaviest), then cycle back for their second attempt (lightest to heaviest), and so on.
More Lifts: Unlike a standard weightlifting meet, athletes will have 4 attempts instead of the usual 3.
Community-Friendly Format: This unique approach is designed to accommodate our numbers, maximize equipment use, and embrace the inner-club dynamics that make the Friendship Cup such a fun, supportive event.
Event Schedule
9:00-11:30am -Women’s Sessions – kicking off the day (number of sessions will depend on registration).
11:30-2:30pm - SWAT Athletes & Adapted Deadlift Session – showcasing the incredible strength and spirit of our adapted athletes.
2:30-5:00pm - Men’s Session – closing out the competition with energy and excitement.
Post-Competition Social
Following the SWAT and Adapted sessions, we’ll celebrate with pizza and grub 🍕 available to all athletes—because no Friendship Cup is complete without some good food and laughs shared together.
