2019 VOODOO FITNESS FESTIVAL

Date - September 06-07-08, 2019

Location - Synergy Strength and Conditioning - 400-1222 Quebec Ave, Saskatoon, SK. S7K 1V2.

Description -

- The Voodoo Fitness Festival is Saskatchewans largest functional fitness competition with over 300 athletes taking part across 8 different divisions.

Divisions -

- Elite Individual (M/F)

- RX’d Teams (MM/FF)

- Open Teams (MM/FF)

- Beginner Teams (MM/FF)

- Elite Masters Individual (M/F - 35 yoa+)

- Masters I Teams (MM/FF - 40-49 yoa+)

- Masters II Teams (MM/FF - 50+ yoa+)

- Teens Individual (M/F)

Competition Schedule -

- Friday night - Elite Individuals, RX’d Teams, Masters Individuals only

- Saturday - All divisions

- Sunday - All divisions

Workouts - All teams are guaranteed 5 workouts

Cost - $155/athlete

The Voodoo Fitness Festival will continue with the format of 3 divisions of competition. We will offer the following divisions;

ELITE Individual Division

- Individual (M/F)

- Movement Requirements - MU's (ring/bar), HSPU's, HS walking, clean 155/245#, Back squat 225/340#

Comments - athletes in this division should be able to complete all and any skills - there are no limit to the programming and movements. 

RX'd Team Division

- Same sex triplets (MMM or FFF)

- Movement Requirements - Mu's (bar and ring), HSPU's, Clean 155/225#, Back squat 185/315#

Comments - essentially atheltes need to be able to do any movement and skill as there are no limits to the programming given. Be prepared for anything :)

OPEN Team Division

- Same sex triplets (MMM or FFF)

- Movement Requirements - Pull-ups, T2B, Clean 105/155#, Back squat 145/205#

Comments - athletes in this division may have competed before, but do not have all gymnastics skills and strength required for Rx'd division.  Athletes most likely scale some of the daily WOD's in their club programming, but have the capacity to do some Rx'd.

BEGINNER Team Division

- Same sex triplets (MMM or FFF)

- Movement Requirements - none, everything is scalable and modifiable. 

Comments - this division is for those who have never competed before and are interested in getting involved in our sport.  The lowest volume and intensities are in this division as the goal of the competitors is be involved and have fun. 

MASTERS ELITE Individual Division

- Individual (M/F)

- Age - 35+ years of age on the day of the comp

- Movement Requirements - C2B Pull-ups, T2B, Clean 115/185#, Back squat 135/205#

Comments - this division is age based.  Movement requirements are not set, but are examples of what is needed to compete best, but please do not focus on these as absolutes. 

TEEN Individual Division

- Individual (M/F)

- Age - 15-19 years of age at the date of competition (Sept 07th, 2018)

- Movement Requirements - Pull-ups, T2B, Clean 85/125#, Back squat 115/185#

**movement requirements are recommendations not absolute requirements.  These standards are meant to be a guideline only. 

Comments - this division is of course based on age.  Movement requirements are not set, but are examples of what is needed to compete best, but please do not focus on these as absolutes. 

MASTERS Team Division

- Team (MM/FF)

- Masters I - 45+ years of age at day of comp

- Movement Requirements -none....age dictates division :)

Comments - this division is of course based on age.  Movement requirements are not set as we allow scalings and modifications as required and needed. 

  • Each team will complete 5 workouts each over the course of one day of competition. If this sounds like a lot of work, you’re right, but the workouts are short and not all will be high volume. Some will be 60sec in length while others will be 5+min. You can be guaranteed one thing - workouts will not be long. The CIC is all about short, fast, greasy, team oriented workouts - no long chippers of aerobic feats of endurance. Our goal - make this competition all about inclusivity and fun.
