Beginner/Intermediate Outline:

Athletes aspiring to gain more knowledge about and improve basic gymnastics movements will love this clinic. We will work on foundational skills including; kipping pull ups, handstand balances and toes to bar/Knees to elbow. We will also go over spotting techniques and skill progressions for ring muscle ups. Please bring gymnastics grips or tape for your hands.

About Louise:

CrossFit came to me a little bit later on. Throughout my journey of sports and movement, I have also done a lot of different activities/sports in my years. I started with dance at 3, which continued until I was 16. I was in gymnastics at a provincial and national level from age 7 until 13, then track and cheerleading from 14-18. I learned how to skateboard when I was 17 and that transferred over to the snow and I was obsessed with snowboarding from 19-27, I was sponsored and it was everything to me.

When I was 28 I made a big move to Montreal and for the first time in my life I had no sport, I left my snowboard sponsors and was feeling pretty lost. I tried triathlons for a bit but it was not my thing and then I found CrossFit. When I went for my first workout I was cocky and thought that my friend who pushed me to go was making way to big of a deal about this BARFING after you workout thing, I almost didn’t make it through the warm up. I was hooked. CrossFit gave me the same feeling I got when I was hiking a ridge line with my snowboard strapped to my back pack, that burning, scary and addicting feeling of sweat, loss of breath and pain. I LOVED IT.

I feel grateful for joining the CrossFit community when I did; it was 2009 and a fairly new sport. I went to the first box in Montreal, over the next 5 years it went from that 1 box to over 20, like many other cities in Canada. I got to train with some amazing athletes and learn from some great coaches. I made it to the 2011 CrossFit Games on a Team L’Usine which was such an unreal experience. My transition from CrossFit athlete to coach has been so rewarding. Coaching is my passion. I love sharing my knowledge with others and learning new concepts and q’s as well. It is my responsibility to help people succeed on their journey and I take great care with that role. I have had many years of coaching experience in gymnastics, dance, track and now CrossFit. Nothing beats working hard beside someone, cheering them on and watching them reach goals!!!! I LOVE IT.
