What is CRossfit kids & teens? 

The kids and teens programs were created for kids between the ages of 6-18 to take part in fitness and the sport of weightlifting.  Kids can lift weights, but they need to be taught how to do it correctly, safely, and with proper progression. Our goals are to create fit, strong, self confident, determined junior athletes. Our athletes learn the basics of strength training, gymnastics, and human movement to become the best athletes possible.  Kids exercises do not have to be overly complicated, but should involve aspects of the ABC's of movement; Agility, Balance, and Coordination. 

At Synergy we run coached exercise classes for kids and teens programs and teach the FUNdamentals of the sports of CrossFit and weightlifting.  Ours aims are to positively affect all children using strength training to create a "fit for life" attitude.  To achieve this we focus on six key areas;

- Athlete training and development with a long term focus

- Proper coaching for youth

- Capacity and leadership in a positive direction

- Competition as a motivator and focus point

- Proper facilities to train and learn in

- Coach/Athlete communication at a high level

Crossfit kids and teens at Synergy Strength 

We offer three programs based on the age of athlete;

CrossFit Kids (Ages 4-7) -

This program runs twice a week for 30min.  The focus of the program is FUN and active play.  The kids will learn the basic movement patterns of our sports, but our main goal is to create a positive attitude within children towards physical activity and a gym setting. 

CRossfit teens (Ages 8-12)

This program consists of three 1 hour sessions per week.  Through a variety of physical activities (ABC's - agility, balance and coordination), youth are introduced to FUNdamental movement skills such as running, jumping, throwing, squatting, rolling, etc. – activities that will later form the basis for most sports skills. These FUNdamental skills are translated into sport-specific skills (Weightlifting, CrossFit, Powerlifting, and Strongman) within the structured hour class to keep the emphasis on learning a variety of sports and avoiding early specialization.  Like the CrossFit KIDS group, the emphasis is on FUN.  

crossfit teens (ages 13+)

Teens consolidate their basic sport-specific skills and may begin moving towards specialization in one sport - in this case weightlifting and CrossFit will be the emphasis'.  However, they are still participating in other aspects of sport through the variety in the programming, which maintains a baseline of athletic capacities. Coaches work to optimize all of their athletic capacities – technical, tactical, physical, mental, emotional and more.
